Dangerous and Destructive

Different types of pests come with different dangers. They can increase the risk of fire, destroy important machinery, and attack.

• Bees and wasps can create hives and nests in unsafe places, such as inside a chimney. Hives and nests inside chimneys increase the risk of chimney fires.
• Bees and wasps are also known to sting when they are afraid. Their stings can be quite painful, and even deadly to those who are allergic.
• Bugs, such as termites, can cause serious structural damage to your building. They can eat through support beams and cause the entire structure of your building to become unstable and unsafe.
• Small rodents, such as mice and rats, can also bite.
• A major issue with small rodents is that they love to chew on things. They may chew on important wires, causing machinery or technological devices to malfunction. They may also cause dangerous fraying of electrical wires which could lead to fire.
• The dangers of larger rodents such as racoons and opossums are mostly related to their violent tendencies when they feel threatened or cornered. Especially dangerous are mothering rodents with small babies to protect. They may bite and scratch with the slightest provocation.

Health Hazard

Pests are a hazard to your health for multiple reasons.

• They carry bacteria which can get onto your floors, countertops, and even your food.Certain bacteria, such as that found in mice and rat droppings can cause serious health problems in humans.
• They can carry diseases which can make you, your family, you employees, or your customers sick. Rabies is one well-known disease which can be transferred from rodents to humans through a single bite. Other lesser-known diseases can also be transferred to you.
• Many people are allergic to the dust and dander created by insects and rodents. These allergies can range from mildly annoying to serious health concerns.
